TSCA came about from 5 coaches with an idea to form a association to promote fast pitch softball. The association started out as Middle Tennessee Softball Association. The group of 5 high school coaches, John Conditt (Antioch), Gary Davis (Lipscomb), Cindy Towers (White House), David Upton (Warren County) and Phil Burkhart (Rossview). They met in June 2003 in Hickman, Tennessee to discuss how an organization could be beneficial to the sport of softball in Middle Tennessee. The decision was made to contact all the high school coaches in Middle Tennessee from Eastern Time Zone to the Tennessee River to see how much interest in a coach's organization existed. Coaches were contacted by phone or letter inviting them to a second meeting. That meeting took place at Antioch High School in July attended by 8 coaches.

Much has happened since that meeting and many ideas have become a reality including scholarships for student athletes, website, regular season tournaments geared to teams that normally didn't go to tournaments, coaches clinic, All Star Game,, intra-state game, playing the All Stars from Kentucky, All Academic team, relationship with TSSAA, Miss Softball, All State Teams from all 3 divisions of the state and Coaches Hall of Fame.

The dream of those five coaches have become a dream and excited what the future holes for TSCA. If your high school coaches haven't joined, they are encouraged to become members today and become a voice for their players, school and the great sport of softball.
